Effective June 18, 2012 the Archdiocese of Cincinnati has changed the way it conducts training for its Decree on Child Protection. All training sessions on the Decree will now be known as Virtus Child Awareness Sessions.
Volunteers who previously attended the Child Protection Decree will need to attend the NEW Virtus Child Awareness Session by May 2014.
All new volunteers must attend a Virtus Child Awareness Session and be fingerprinted prior to working with the children.
The Virtus online registration and session dates can be found at the Archdiocese of Cincinnati website or by following the link below:
Additionally, effective May 1, 2012, any person who needs to be fingerprinted will need to contact me to obtain a background release form (FP-1) and have it signed by the designated representative (Mrs. Hicks) prior to being fingerprinted. If a person goes to be fingerprinted without a previously signed form, they will need to pay for the fingerprinting in cash at the time of service. Currently, the charge for a BCI is $28 and FBI is $30. Payment can be made in the form of cash or money order, personal checks are not accepted. If the person pays out of pocket, they will need to obtain a receipt and contact the OLGAA Treasurer for reimbursement.
Volunteers who have already previously been fingerprinted for OLG, St. Ann, Assumption, St. Margaret Mary, or Little Flower DO NOT need to be fingerprinted again.
Thank you,
